Bruce Springsteen @ Rock In Rio
Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band performed at Rock In Rio for the last day of the fest. And what an memorable concert it was! More than 81.000 people got together to listen and sing with the man himself – “The Boss” ! And in the middle of so many restrictions for the music photographers, still it was a pleasure to shoot this show.
No surprise to me that Bruce Springsteen management don´t allow shooting from the pit, so here we go to the “your security head is on my lens” spot, yes – the soundboard! Even if you bring the 400mm lens, on a huge venue like this one, you are still too far from the stage.
Even so, I am glad there was permission for 2 songs and there was no photo-release contract to sign.
But at the end of the time allowed for taking the pictures, we were inform to exit from behind the soundboard spot. This means straight to the audience! Now, imagine trying to get out with all the gear. Not easy, argh!
If you been reading my blog, you wonder why I am always mention the restrictions, etc. Well, i pretend in near future to post about how these band photo-release contracts, soundboard shooting, amateurs with photo-pass and another issues are killing music photography.
For now, let´s just say, the way things are going, maybe it will come a time where we have to pay the bands/artists to shoot their concerts.
